Important iPhone alert as Apple says 'get ready' for something new this week![]() There's a big week ahead for Apple fans, with the US technology giant confirming that something new is on its way. In a rare message posted on social media, Apple's CEO Tim Cook said, "Get ready to meet the newest member of the family." The news has been set for Wednesday, February 19, and all rumours point towards Apple revealing a new iPhone SE. For those not in the know, this entry-level device has long offered a cheaper way to buy an Apple-made smartphone, with current costs starting from under £500. At that price, this is a tempting device, but buying one today is probably a very bad idea. Stores including Apple, Argos and Amazon appear to still be stocking the 2022 version of the iPhone SE. However, if all the whispers are true, the next generation of this cut-price call maker could be a massive upgrade over what's currently available. Of course, Apple never reveals anything until the launch day but some experts have been speculating that the new iPhone SE will finally look more like gadgets such as the iPhone 14. That means it could ditch the chunky bezels and ageing Touch ID fingerprint scanner in favour of a full-screen design and Face ID unlocking. This system takes a scan of your facial features and can even be used to make payments via Apple Pay. Another rumour doing the rounds is that the iPhone SE will get the latest A18 processor inside which will make it more powerful than iPhone 15. By adding this chip, users will be able to access Apple Intelligence and features such as improved Siri, auto image editing, help writing emails and even ChatGPT integration. Other changes could include USB-C charging, better battery life, a boost to its single-lens camera and some shiny new colours. One thing we do know is that all the news will be revealed on Wednesday and we would not recommend buying an iPhone SE today. Express.co.uk will bring you all the latest Apple news as soon as we hear more so watch this space. Source link Posted: 2025-02-17 11:12:05 |
