Deciding what might be the best cuisine really depends on the individual, especially given the number of foods available.

However, when it comes to food, former World's Best Chef Dabiz Munoz most definitely knows what he's talking about.

The renowned expert from Spain gained international recognition in 2010 after earning his first Michelin star, now has three stars to his name and has been crowned the 'World's Best Chef' not once, but three years in a row.

A number of cities and areas in Spain are famous for their contribution to world cuisine, including Andalucia for its olive oil and Valencia for its paella. However, according to the chef, one city tops the list.

Dabiz Munoz says that the best place to eat in Spain is the capital city, Madrid.

And it's not a surprise as the chef was born and raised in the city, so he got to enjoy Madrid's culinary diversity right from a very young age, reports the Olive Press.

The triple-Michelin-starred chef claims that Madrid is "unique" because people can enjoy different cuisines on every corner. He said, "But there's no better plan than eating a cocido with friends and talking about padel."

Cocido is a stew made with meat, vegetables, chickpeas, and broth, popular in Madrid and is the chef's favourite and the dish known for being the perfect wintertime comfort food even has a specific way to eat it.

It is traditionally broken up in two or three courses. According to Spain's official tourism website, the soup is served with the noodles and then the chickpeas are served with various vegetables including sauteed cabbage, carrots and turnip.

The final stage of the dish are the pieces of meat, pork, bacon and the marrow bones, the marrow spread is noted as being "delicious" on toast.

This feel-good dish is only one of the many delicious ones from Madrid, and Spain's tourism website has a number of recipes that must be tried.
