Duchess Sophie makes a head turning appearance on wedding anniversary at Royal Ascot | Royal | News

The Duchess of Edinburgh looked breath-taking in a green and white look as she stepped out at Royal Ascot in another radiant ensemble on Thursday. She was pictured wearing an elegant floral inspired look outfit complemented by striking millinery.

The Duchess was seen pictured with her husband, Prince Edward, riding in the second royal carriage on the same day that they are celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary. They were joined by the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. Their carriage followed behind King Charles and Queen Camilla, who were accompanied by the Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury.

Sophie, 60, looked radiant in a dress by her go-to designer, Suzannah London. The white dress, adorned with a green floral print, exuded a fresh, summery charm—perfect for the elegance of Royal Ascot. Featuring a high collar and a V-neckline, the design added structure while maintaining a soft, feminine silhouette that balanced formality with grace.

The Duchess of Edinburgh completed her look with a large white Jane Taylor hat, embellished with delicate floral appliqués and fine netted detailing, lending a whimsical yet refined touch.

The overall ensemble was classic, polished, and perfectly aligned with Royal Ascot’s timeless dress code.

Princess Anne is wearing a vibrant royal blue ensemble that exudes classic sophistication. Her outfit features a structured jacket or dress with subtle sheen, complemented by a strand of elegant pearls—a signature accessory of hers.

She paired the look with a large, light blue hat accented with airy, netted tulle, adding volume and a soft, ethereal touch to the overall appearance.

The colour coordination between the hat and outfit creates a cohesive and striking look, in keeping with her timeless and no-nonsense approach to Royal Ascot fashion.

Also in attendance were Princess Beatrice and her husband, as well as Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall. This appearance came after some confusion the previous day regarding the royal carriage lineup.

It had initially been announced that Princess Kate would attend; however, Kensington Palace later confirmed that she had withdrawn from the event, prompting the release of a revised list at the last minute.

Thursday marks the third day of Royal Ascot - as well as Ladies Day. The Duchess of Edinburgh has attended each day of the celebration so far this year and has looked incredible each time.

Royal Ascot is one of Britain's most well-known racecourses and is frequently attended by the Royal Family. It was founded by Queen Anne in 1711 and has since received the support of a further twelve monarchs.

While the King's passion for horse-racing does not measure up to the devotion shown by the late Queen, it was reported by The Sun, that the monarch will attend all five days of the event this year after being left "surprised" by his newfound love of the sport.

Sources claimed that the monarch enjoys getting "stuck in" during the event, alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, who also has a passion for horse racing.
