It seems inconceivable that people could be unaware of the details of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance but here is a reminder of what happened:

Madeleine, then aged three, disappeared in 2007 while on holiday with her family in the resort of Praia da Luz after her parents went out to dinner and left her sleeping in a room with her toddler twin siblings.

Her disappearance sparked a global search effort and was the source of a host of conspiracies theories about what might have happened to the British toddler.

Despite this, several investigations have been unable to locate Madeleine or find evidence that could conclusively say what happened to her.

Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann have vowed to continue the search for their daughter indefinitely, despite several false alarms.
