A product sold in Lidl has been recalled - because the allergen information is not printed in English. The batch of Healthy Fit brand Cookies & Cream Protein Bars is being recalled because the label fails to disclose in English that the bars contain milk and soya.

The product poses a potential health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or soya. Lidl is urging people not to consume the bars but to return them as soon as possible. The Food Standards Agency has issued an urgent allergy alert and customers will be fully refunded.

The bars, which weigh 60g, are sold in Lidl stores in Northern Ireland. Any bars with a best before date of January 2026 and a batch code of 002851 are impacted by the recall.

The Food Standards Agency warned: "This product contains milk and soya making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to soya."

Lidl said: "If you have purchased the above product and have an allery or intolerance to milk or soy, we advise you not to consume it. 

"Instead, please return the product to a Lidl store for a full refund, with or without a receipt. Lidl wishes to apologise for an inconvenience causes. Any customers with queries or concerns can contact our customer services team."

The supermarket chain, which has over 1,000 stores across the UK, will display point of sale notcies in affected supermarkets. These will explain why the bars are being removed and what people should do if they have bought them.

It comes after Marks & Spencer recalled Polarn O. Pyret Branded Poppy Print Rompers due to safety complaints. The recall was made for the T94 8409A model in size 1-12 months old, which was sold on M&S.com.

The company said: "Polarn O. Pyret has issued a Product Recall due to safety complaints with their Poppy Print Romper, T94 8409A in the specified sizes 1-12 Months".
