Katherine Jenkins surprises Wales v England fans in pub at Six Nations | Rugby | Sport

Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins left fans spellbound at a Cardiff bar just hours before the highly-anticipated Wales v England rugby clash. The 44-year-old songstress graced the Cosy Club with her presence before the final Six Nations game, delivering a stunning performance of the Welsh national anthem that captivated the crowd.

The bustling city centre venue was packed with hundreds of eager patrons when Jenkins surprised them all by offering a round of her Cygnet Gin and Tonic. Donning her Wales jersey, she warmly engaged with admirers, signing autographs and snapping countless photos.

The showdown between Wales and England is set for a 4.45pm kick-off at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, a venue no stranger to Jenkins' anthem renditions.

Meanwhile, current Wales coach Matt Sherratt has hinted at a desire for new leadership, suggesting "someone fresh to come in" as head coach following his interim tenure, which concludes with the England match.

Sherratt has been turning heads with his remarkable performance since stepping in for Warren Gatland. A victory over their arch-rivals England could spark a push for the Welsh Rugby Union to secure him as the permanent head coach.

Despite his success, the Gloucester-born Sherratt, who has roots in both England and Wales, is set to return to his role at Cardiff.

"I am going to go back to Cardiff as head coach on Monday. If we beat England, I will probably be in on Friday," he declared. "I have not changed on that. It is a big job, and for three games it has been a massively enjoyable campaign.

"My instinct is that it needs someone fresh to come in. And probably where I am as a coach – I have been a head coach for 18 months."

Acknowledging his own journey, Sherratt added, "I have always been pretty self-aware in terms of where I am in my development, and I feel I need a bit more time in the saddle as a head coach at club level."
