Six Nations LIVE: England star in private meeting amid fears over Pope’s health | Rugby | Sport

England are still in the mix for Six Nations glory after winning two of their first three matches of the campaign. Steve Borthwick’s men secured a 16-15 victory over Scotland a fortnight ago after overcoming France 26-25 two weeks earlier. Those results followed an opening-weekend defeat against Ireland.

England host Italy at Twickenham on Sunday with the opportunity to surpass their points tally from 2024. The 2003 Rugby World Cup champions are four points shy of their total from last season with two rounds remaining. They will be aiming to take the race for silverware down to the final weekend.

The penultimate round of Six Nations fixtures gets underway on Saturday afternoon as leaders Ireland host second-place France. Ireland would take a giant stride towards landing the Grand Slam if they come out of that one victorious ahead of a trip to Italy on the final weekend.

Scotland and Wales then go head-to-head at Murrayfield later in the afternoon ahead of England’s showdown with Italy the following day.
