Darts ace Gerwyn Price coolly played down his latest victory over Luke Littler, claiming: "That was only my B game."

Following Price's 6-4 triumph in the Premier League Darts in Dublin on Thursday night, a visibly frustrated Luke 'the Nuke' Littler threw his darts case to the ground as he exited the stage.

Backstage, Littler was still seething, clearly irked by Price's earlier remarks about needing his "A game" to compete with the young world champion.

Despite securing the night's title after defeating Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall, Price denies being Littler's nemesis, even though the latter hasn't bested him in 10 months.

He explained: "I don't think it's that I have a particularly good record against him - it's just that I have confidence in my own ability, and I know if I play well and bring my A Game to the stage, then whether it's Luke or Michael [van Gerwen] or anybody, it doesn't matter who I play."

He added: "And I always say that. Some people say I am cocky and arrogant saying it, but it ain't like that."

"If I am playing well, I know I'll win games. I don't think (it's in his head). If it keeps happening, like it did when I lost to Michael van Gerwen 19 times on the bounce, the longer it goes on, then maybe it will (feel like a jinx)."

However, Price believes Littler has the mental fortitude to overcome this hurdle, stating: "I think he's strong enough to not worry about it. I wouldn't say that was my A Game in Dublin - my highest average on the night was 102.

"That was probably like my B game. There is a hell of a lot more in the tank when I am on it."

The darts ace justified his Premier League wildcard selection amidst criticism from World Grand Prix champion Mike de Decker and the higher-ranked Dave Chisnall, who were both overlooked for the prestigious event.

Price hit back at the doubters, asserting: "We do deliver. You know, we weren't as consistent as we wanted to be last year or maybe the last 12-18 months, but when push comes to shove, we will deliver, and we will put bums on seats and we will entertain."

He challenged his rivals by adding: "We want to do that every week. Week-in, week-out. Can Damon Heta, Mike De Decker and Chizzy do that? Maybe. But they need to prove it a little bit more."
