Gordon Ramsay is urging people to ditch butter for a budget-friendly alternative to make his famously perfect scrambled eggs.

Ramsay confessed to being "blown away" by plant-based spread, Flora, after testing it out in a range of recipes, saying it gives a rich creamy flavour to the dish.

In a campaign with Flora, Gordon Ramsay said: “I believe in good, honest cooking with quality ingredients, and I can genuinely say, Flora has blown me away. From scrambled eggs to chocolate cake, I have put the product through its paces.

"It gives me the creaminess and rich taste I get from butter, whilst being more sustainable. I would encourage home cooks to make the switch, try it for themselves and see what they can create."

In one of the campaign videos, a voiceover asks Ramsay if Flora is great for baking, to which Ramsay replies in his well-known style: "Is that a serious question? Just look at this f***ing cake."

Ramsay said he wants home cooks to "break up" with bland kitchen habits and elevate their cooking and baking.

He previously racked up 7.5 million views on a YouTube video for HexClad Cookware, where he talks viewers through how to make the perfect scrambled and fried eggs, which he is renowned for.
