Cheapest supermarket to buy real Christmas trees named - not Lidl or Asda

Consumer group Which? have found Aldi to be selling the cheapest supermarket Christmas trees.

With prices starting from as little as £13.99, shoppers can save a huge £66 when compared to other retailers including B&Q.

Sustainably grown in Scotland, Aldi’s trees are available in medium and large.

They are available in stores from November 21, whilst stocks last.

This means if you’re an eager shopper looking to get your hands on one, you must be quick.

The Nordman Fir Christmas Tree in medium will be between 160cm and 180cm in height, whilst the large will be between 190cm and 210cm.

The medium trees are available now, and the large trees will be on sale from November 24.

Customers can be assured that each tree has been grown in the UK and is sourced from a sustainable plantation.

This means for every tree cut down, 2.5 more are planted.

To keep your Christmas tree fresher for longer, saw about 3cm off the trunk when you get it home and stand it in a bucket of water.

Make sure the stand you place your tree into has a water reservoir and top this up regularly to keep the tree hydrated.

Stand the tree in a cool part of the room, well away from any heat sources.

As Aldi’s trees are Nordman, they shouldn’t drop too many needles when compared to the traditional Norway spruce.

Make sure to keep pets away from Christmas trees too, as the needles could be dangerous if ingested.

Other supermarkets are also stocking a selection of freshly cut Christmas trees, so head down to your favourite to see what’s available.

This includes Lidl where a medium-sized tree is £16.99 and a large one for £26.99.
