It can’t be long until Apple unveils the next iPhone SE as another eye-opening leak has just surfaced that claims to show the exact design of the new affordable device in both photos and a short video. Leaker Majin Bu has shared the fresh leaks on their X page with the alleged phones in black and white colours.

The devices mostly back up the existing rumours about the design of the iPhone SE 4, boasting a flat sided design very similar to the iPhone 14, complete with that phone’s notch design above the screen instead of the Dynamic Island seen on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16.

Around the back is a clean look with just one camera lens next to a flash and the familiar Apple logo, consistent with the ongoing notion that, like each of the three previous iPhone SE models, there won’t be more than a single camera sensor.

In the shared ten second video, Bu turns the device around in their hand showing off the white model. Although the screen is off (this could be a dummy model rather than an actual iPhone SE 4), a notch can be made out at the top of the display, with the selfie camera positioned to the left of the speaker grille as it is on the iPhone 14.

iPhones with the Dynamic Island have the camera slightly to the right, and hose the Face ID sensors in a separate pill shaped hole in the screen to the left of that. Here, the SE retains the older notch design that puts all the components in a physical notch that connects to the top of the screen, and does not use software to display information in the space, which is how the Dynamic Island works.

The look of the phone is consistent with recent leaks from renowned Apple tipster Sonny Dickson, who recently posted similar-looking dummy models.

Having said that, the leak is at odds with Evan Blass, who recently posted on X about the iPhone SE 4 to claim it does in fact bring the Dynamic Island to the as-yet-unannounced budget iPhone.

However, in light of the latest leak from Bu, Blass posted on X: “It would seem that I owe you folks a refund ??????”, seemingly suggesting his assertion the phone will have the Dynamic Island could be incorrect.

Either way, excitement for the new iPhone SE is reaching fever pitch. If the phone packs in the same internal specs as the iPhone 16 with a notch and one less camera for hundreds of pounds less, it could be a major hit. The last two iPhone SE generations had up-to-date internals for their time but went with the ancient design of the iPhone 8 from 2018.

If Apple prices the iPhone SE 4 that looks much more modern with top iOS performance and a capable main camera at the same £429 as the current third-gen iPhone SE, it would substantially undercut the £799 iPhone 16. Either Apple will have cut more corners than we realise to get the price down, or the upcoming SE will get a noticeable price increase.
