How to remove stains from carpets fast and naturally without machines

Carpet cleaning can be a nightmare when you have spilt certain drinks or food items that are vivid in colour.

However, before you shell out for expensive carpet cleaners or a machine, Karrie Truman from Happy Money Saver has shared a homemade concoction that promises to leave your carpets without a stain in sight.

Karrie explained: “Making your own homemade all-natural carpet cleaner has never been so easy!

“With our easy-to-make, inexpensive all-natural solution you won't buy the commercial stuff anymore. It's safe, effective, and uses ingredients you likely already have at home.”

Vinegar emerges as a hero in tackling tough carpet stains and dislodging trapped dirt due to its acidic properties.

It's especially adept at addressing alkaline stains such as pet urine, soap residue, or the typical culprits hidden in your carpet.

Not only does vinegar naturally neutralise smells, but it also boasts antibacterial qualities, ensuring that it not only masks unsavoury odours but also sanitises the fabric thoroughly.

Karrie highlighted: “A versatile and natural cleaning agent, vinegar effectively cuts through dirt and odours, leaving surfaces sanitised due to its acidic properties.

“Hot water helps to dissolve grime and enhance the cleaning power of other ingredients, making it easier to lift stains from the carpet.”

Creating your carpet cleaner at home couldn't be simpler. Just mix up half a gallon of vinegar with the same amount of hot water in either a large mixing bowl or right in your kitchen sink.

For a touch of fragrance in your homemade cleaner, consider adding essential oils, but proceed with caution because many are harmful to dogs and cats.

Don’t forget to give your carpet a thorough vacuuming before you start applying any cleaning solution.

Always remember to perform a spot test with your DIY concoction by dabbing a little on an out-of-the-way patch of carpet and waiting a day to see if it causes any damage.

Typically, the actual cleaning part is over within five minutes, but patience is key. Let the fabric dry out for a full day, and you should be rewarded with a stain-free carpet once again.
