Luke Humphries accuses Sky Sports of 'doing me over' as Luke Littler responds | Other | Sport

Luke Humphries has jokingly accused Sky Sports of “doing me over” with his walk-on music. In a chat with fellow darts sensation Luke Littler, the pair asked each other for their views on their walk-ons.

Humphries walks out to Kaiser Chiefs' hit I Predict A Riot. However, he has revealed that he did not choose the tune himself. Instead, Sky Sports gave him the anthem.

Littler has walked on stage to Pitbull’s Greenlight ever since his breakthrough into senior darts. Humphries conceded that he had not heard of the song until Littler’s emergence, but said that it ramped up the atmosphere ahead of the 17-year-old’s matches.

Asked about Humphries’ walk-out song, Littler said: “I like it, it’s a good walk-out. It’s a lot better… Who chose that?”

“Not me, Sky Sports. They did me over, didn’t they?” Humphries joked.

Littler quipped: “No comment! What do you think of my walk-out?”

Humphries admitted: “I had never heard of it before. But now, it gives a good vibe, doesn’t it? The crowd love it. I think it’s definitely up there with one of the best walk-ons.”

Both players will be hoping to repeat their runs to the World Darts Championship final from last year. Humphries defeated Littler 7-4 in the final, with the teenager having enjoyed an incredible breakthrough tournament.

Humphries started the 2024-25 edition of the tournament with a dominant 3-0 victory over Thibault Tricole in the second round. A rampant display delivered on a promise the 29-year-old made ahead of the tournament. Despite heading to Ally Pally as the second favourite to win, he vowed to be “dangerous”.

"I think it would be more special. When you win it the first time, it's great but when you prove yourself and do it back to back, I think that would be an emotional one. I want to know how it feel," Humphries told the BBC.

"It's been the most amazing year but it's a year you want to go and do again. The want for me to be world champion every year is going to be increased. I'm going to be dangerous at the worlds this year."

Littler does not face his second-round match until Saturday night. He will play the winner of Queen of the Palace Fallon Sherrock’s clash with Ryan Meikle.
