POLL: Should Princess Eugenie join Harry and Meghan for Christmas? | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly invited Princess Eugenie and her young family to join the festive celebrations in California with them this year.

The 34-year-old, who shares three-year-old August and one-year-old Ernest with her husband Jack Brooksbank, has also been asked by King Charles to join celebrations at the Sandringham estate - a tradition that is upheld each year by the Royal Family.

It has been reported that Eugenie is looking to explore ways that she could split her time between California and the Norfolk estate this year - especially as her children are close in age to Harry and Meghan's son and daughter.

It has been described as a "difficult position" for Eugenie - who is known to be close to both the royals and the Sussexes.

Recently speaking to Express.co.uk about Eugenie's festive plans, a source said: "Harry and Meghan have invited Eugenie and Jack to join them in California during the holidays. It’s a very difficult position for Eugenie because she has also been invited to Sandringham."

They added: "It would be so nice for the children to spend time with their cousins.

"The diary is very tight over the holidays but there might be a slot free around New Years’ time for everyone to come together at some point."

Harry and Meghan are gearing up for another Christmas separate from the royals in the UK - with the pair reportedly having not received an invite again this year.

The couple haven't spent Christmas at Sandringham since 2018. Although he was born in the UK in May 2019, Meghan and Harry made the decision to fly to Canada for their son Archie's first Christmas that year.

Recently revealing how they typically spend Christmas, Meghan said that they spend the holidays just like "any other family".

The mother of two recently told Marie Claire that Christmas gets better "every year" as Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, grow older.

Meghan told the publication: "We're always making sure we have something to do. Like any other family, you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar - fun.'"
