Major Sky TV and Freeview rival offers you more things to watch for freeSky and Freeview might rule roost when it comes to watching TV but a new service that launched this year is now offering a serious alternative. Freely, which is actually owned by the same team behind Freeview, arrived in UK homes earlier this year with the promise of offering live and on demand content without the need for a dish or ugly aerial. Just like Sky Glass and Freeview Play, Freely comes built into a swathe of modern TVs with users simply plugging in, linking the screen to their Wi-Fi and the getting instant access to endless hours of content. It's a smart way of getting your fix of entertainment, but at launch, there were only a limited number of channels available. Luckily, that's all now changing with a number of new services about to go live on the platform. It's just been confirmed that new deals have been reached with AMC Networks International UK (AMCNI UK), PBS America, GB News and QVC who will all now bring their content offerings to Freely. The new partnerships brings the total line-up to over 40 streamed live channels seamlessly integrated with 74,000 hours of on demand content from eleven different players. HERE ARE ALL THE NEW CHANNELS COMING TO FREELY TRUE CRIME - Ch 37 LEGEND – Ch 38 PBS America – Ch 49 TRUE CRIME Xtra – Ch 50 LEGEND Xtra - Ch 51 GB News - Ch 304 QVC - Ch 451 QVC 2 - Ch 453 Along with offering live services, Freely also allows users to pause TV, get recommendations and find out what's on now and next via a full TV guide. Speaking about the update Jonathan Thompson, CEO at Everyone TV, said: "These new collaborations mark a significant milestone as Freely continues to redefine the streaming experience, offering something for everyone, with content across a variety of genres. "From groundbreaking storytelling to rich historical programming and an engaging shopping experience, we are excited to offer an increasingly competitive free viewing experience with these new channels and on demand players. We look forward to continued collaboration across the industry, bringing even more entertaining and engaging content to Freely.” Source link Posted: 2024-12-03 11:48:34 |
