Baileys buyers urged to ditch Tesco and Sainsbury’s for Morrisons by Thursday

It’s the creamy Christmas tipple that’s become a festive favourite up and down the country, but Baileys fans have been told they need to go to Morrisons if they want the cheapest deal.

The popular Irish liqueur is currently on offer at Morrisons for just £8.50 for a one-litre bottle in the run up to the big day.

That undercuts Tesco and Sainsbury’s prices, even for Clubcard and Nectar card holders, both of whom will pay £10 for the same bottle.

Although you do need a Morrisons More card to get the £8.50 price, there’s a bigger catch than that: Morrisons is only offering the bargain booze to shoppers who spend £45 or more in store in a single transaction.

The offer is also limited to shoppers in England and Wales and is only running until Thursday, December 12, so there’s not long left before it ends.

If you don’t have a More card it’s free to sign up online, via the More Card app, or by picking up a physical card in store. You must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident to get a card and this will give you access to lower prices on hundreds of Morrisons items.

You can earn points when you buy selected products in store and online, and you’ll get five points for every litre of fuel bought at Morrisons petrol stations. Once you’ve reached 5,000 points you can then convert them into a £5 voucher, or ‘Fiver’.

Of course if you don’t want to spend £45 on groceries just to get the cheap booze, you can still pick up a one-litre bottle of Baileys in Tesco and Sainsbury’s for £10 if you’re a Clubcard or Nectar card member.

Tesco’s deal is ending on Monday, December 9, while Sainsbury’s offer ends even sooner on Sunday, December 8.

The Tesco offer applies to Baileys bottles bought in stores and online in England and Wales with a Clubcard. In Scotland, shoppers can get a bottle for £11.05. If you don’t have a Clubcard you can register for one online for free.

Sainsbury’s deal excludes Scotland and Sainsbury’s Local stores. If you don’t have a Nectar card you can sign up to be a member online and collect points with personalised offers from the supermarket and its reward partners, which include Argos, British Airways and Esso.
