Give your old smartwatch to Samsung and get ultimate Galaxy Watch for a bargain price

Samsung has slashed £100 off the RRP to bring the Watch Ultra down to £499, but if you have a smartwatch currently, you can trade it in for an even bigger discount. To get the price right down to £309 you can trade in an Apple Watch Ultra, but you will also save more than £100 extra if you have any of many Apple Watch models going all the way back to the Series 2, excluding SE models.

So, if you have an ageing Apple Watch Series 2 to 8 or the original Apple Watch Ultra, Samsung is happy to take it off your hands and slash the price of the Galaxy Watch Ultra for you.

The firm is also offering discounts on many older Samsung Galaxy Watches as well as wearables from Garmin and Oppo.

Even if you have no existing smartwatch to trade in, £499 for the Galaxy Watch Ultra is still a good price. In Express.co.uk’s review of the watch we praised its excellent software that runs on Google’s WearOS, the amazing (for a fully-featured smartwatch) two-day battery life, the accurate GPS tracking and extensive range of activities you can log yourself doing.

There’s also sleep tracking and an energy score awarded to you each day to help you keep in tune with your body and whether to go exercise or take a break

Its rugged design is large and might dwarf small wrist, but if you don’t mind the size you’ll get a durable watch, available in three different colours, that can hack hot and cold climates, up to 9,000m altitude, up to 10 ATM water pressure and up to 100 hours of battery in the power saving mode. You even get 4G connectivity built in for the price, so if your mobile operator allows it, you can link it to your SIM and take calls and use data even when not connected to your phone via Bluetooth.

For the adventurers out there there’s even turn by turn directions and a track back mode that lets you retrace your steps via on-wrist maps so you don’t get lost. It’s not rated for proper diving, though.

Samsung says the £499 sale price will run until 3 December, but you can claim money off via the trade in deals until 31 December.
