Harry's 'cold' interaction with William has fans saying same thing | Royal | News

And now a clip of Harry discussing the event has gone viral on TikTok amassing 270,000 views and almost 7,000 likes after it was posted with the caption: "Prince Harry and Meghan talk about the coldness they received from the family on their last engagement at Commonwealth Day 2020”.

The footage began with Meghan saying: "The first time we saw the other members of the family in public was at Westminster Abbey."

The Duke of Sussex went on to confess that the couple were “nervous [about] seeing the family”, largely due to the public glare around the prestigious event.

"We were nervous seeing the family," Harry continued.

He added: "Because all the TV cameras and everyone watching at home and everybody watching in the audience... It's like living through a soap opera where everybody else views you as entertainment.

"I felt really distant from the rest of my family which was interesting because so much of how they operate is about what it looks like rather than what it feels like. And it looked cold. But it also felt cold."

Royal fans were quick to react to the TikTok clip, with some urging Harry and Meghan to "stop whinging".

One user said: "Harry you've made your bed, now lay in it."

Whilst another added: "Ohh give is a rest with the whinging, sick of hearing it. Worse goes on in the world. it’s not all about you."

"Whingers", another user simply commented.

Royal expert Robert Lacey wrote in his 2020 book Battle of Brothers that Meghan held her “best TV smile” throughout the ceremony, but Prince Harry appeared altogether more “tense and unsmiling”.

Lacey reported: “As the ceremony progressed, Harry appeared to grow gloomier.”
