Prince Harry and Meghan Markle statement after 'professional separation' | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are increasingly separating their professional paths as seen recently with Prince Harry’s solo trip to Canada to promote the 2025 Invictus Games.

Meghan is reportedly focussing more of her energies on her business American Riviera Orchard, and Hollywood projects with the Duke of Sussex pursuing his charity events including Invictus.

Harry is currently in Vancouver, Canada, attending Invictus events without Meghan and it is another example of how the royal couple have pivoted to solo public appearances rather than seen hand-in-hand as they have in the past.

It comes after the couple visited Nigeria and Colombia together in the past year, on what was described as "quasi-royal tours"

Harry and Meghan have been pursuing their own interests and attending fewer events together and despite the couple still having joint projects together, they’ve decided to also carve out their own career paths.

A new statement on Sussex.com discussed Harry's attendance at a Grey Cup match in Canada on Sunday November 17 discussing how the prince “took centre stage” - a subtle not to an apparent new tactic of appearing solo in his professional life.

It read: "Yesterday, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex made a notable appearance at the Grey Cup in Vancouver, taking part in a symbolic jersey pass that highlighted the growing momentum for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.

"Held at BC Place, the annual football championship is Canada’s most-watched sporting event, attracting over 50,000 live attendees and millions more via broadcast.”

Harry was seen wearing a dark dress shirt with a long, black jacket and was waving to crowds before giving an interview and then later joined B.C. Lions owner Amar Doman on the field.

"This year’s Cup marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time in a decade that the event returned to British Columbia,” the statement continued.

"The Duke took center stage during the broadcast alongside Team Canada competitor Wen Nie, passing a special IG25 jersey to Amar Doman, owner of the BC Lions.

The Duke of Sussex is currently attending Invictus events which is an international adaptive sport competition for wounded servicemen and women which Harry founded a decade ago.

The Duchess had previously accompanied Harry to these Invictus Games since 2017 and onwards recently joined her husband in Vancouver in February 2024.

The 2025 Invictus Games is set to take place there in February 2025 with Harry telling TSN in an interview that, "This time in less than three months we'll be back for the opening ceremony in February, so that's what we're really excited about.”

It's been reported that Meghan will accompany Harry in February for the Vancover games debating whether or not to bring their son Prince Archie with them.

Meanwhile Meghan is said to be back home in the couple’s California home focusing on her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard (ARO), which is yet to launch.
