Royal fans say the same thing as Queen Camilla misses royal duties | Royal | News

Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday that Queen Camilla is currently unwell with a chest infection and is set to miss some royal duties, including the annual Field of Remembrance event on Thursday and a reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes hosted by the King.

In a statement issued yesterday afternoon, a Palace spokesperson said: “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.

“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.

"She apologises to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result."

The news comes just a few weeks after the Queen, 77, and King Charles, 75, completed their jam-packed Royal Tour of Australia and Samoa.

With the Queen having stepped up for the majority of the year to support the King and attend engagements on his behalf following his cancer diagnosis in February, royal fans have been left “sad” by the news that she is currently unwell.

On X, one royal fan wrote: “Praying for her Majesty Queen Camilla and for the King as well. May they be blessed with strength in mind and body.

“Their continued presence in our lives is not just an inspiration but a source of stability, by which the world presently needs.”

A second fan said: “Get well soon, our King needs you by his side that much is clear, if only to give him a laugh and cheer him up on his gloomy days.”

People have also been quick to comment on how she needs to rest, especially after doing so much for the Royal Family over recent months while other family members themselves have been unwell, including King Charles and Princess Kate who were both diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

One person wrote: “She deserves some time off anyway, she's well into her 70s and has not had a real break in quite a while. Here's hoping she recovers soon.”

Another said: “Deserves a rest. She's done very well as queen so far. Hasn't put a foot wrong.”

The Queen is expected to return to royal duties at the weekend if she is well enough for Sunday's Remembrance Day service.
