If you've got a hairy pet like a cat or dog, you'll know how much of a nightmare it can be to try and control their shedding. It doesn't take long for your soft furnishings to become covered in hairs that can feel impossible to remove.
These hairs can cover your sofas, bed, carpets and rugs, and anywhere else that your animal hangs out regularly, including any pet beds or cat climbing frames you might own.
The most common way of trying to clean up these hairs is to get the vacuum cleaner out, as many brands sell specific vacuums that they claim can remove pet hair without it getting tangled in your machine.
However, these aren't always reliable, and for smaller areas like your sofa, they aren't very practical unless you have one that can detach into a smaller device.
Instead of relying on vacuums, one cat owner on Reddit claimed there's an even better tool you can use - and it'll only cost 80p.
The man shared a video on Reddit in which he could be seen using a squeegee to remove hair from his cat tower.
Squeegees are most commonly used to remove condensation from windows, but the stiff rubber is the perfect tool to drag across soft furnishings to shift pet hair and make it easy to pick up. What's more, you can pick up a cheap squeegee for as little as 80p from some shops.
He wrote on his video: "In case you didn't know, the squeegee is the king of pet hair removal."
And commenters were gobsmacked by the man's claims, with many saying they would try it out themselves.
One person said: "What?! I've got one of these in my junk drawer. I'm going to try this right now!" Another added: "Yes! I use it on the carpets, it's ridiculously satisfying!"
