The next wave of Xbox Game Pass releases have been announced by Microsoft, and it's another banner month for subscribers.
After PS Plus Extra treated fans to games like Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Sword of the Sea, Microsoft has responded with an equally strong line-up of new games.
This includes the day-one release of Gears of War Reloaded, which makes its Xbox Game Pass debut on August 26. With its cinematic gameplay and innovative cover system, Gears of War is often credited as revolutionising the third-person shooter genre.
Reloaded contains the original campaign and multiplayer maps, as well as post-release content such as new missions, cosmetics and more.
The game also features various enhancements in the visual department, and marks the first time the Gears of War franchise has appeared on PlayStation.
In addition to the high-profile release of Gears of War Reloaded, Xbox Game Pass also adds one of the greatest RPGs of all time in Persona 4 Golden.
Persona 4 Golden will be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on August 20. The game sees players attempt to balance day-to-day school life with nightmarish dungeon-crawling.
"Experience a coming-of-age story that sets the protagonist and his friends on a journey kickstarted by a chain of serial murders," reads the official description.
"The world-renowned Persona 4 Golden promises unforgettable adventures, meaningful bonds, and heartwarming experiences shared together with friends."
Speaking of RPGs, 2024 release Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming to Xbox Game Pass on August 28.
The BioWare role-playing game takes place in the world of Thedas, which is described as a "vibrant land of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities".
Your mission is to prevent the ancient gods from destroying the world, although that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Like all BioWare games, you'll meet new companions along the way, build relationships and complete side quests.
Elsewhere, Xbox Game Pass adds PC exclusive titles Blacksmith Master and Void/Breaker from today (August 19).
Currently in Game Preview, Blacksmith Master tasks players with managing their very own medieval smithy.
You'll need to supervise the entire process from start to finish, including the actual mining of ores and gems, to designing and selling weapons and armour.
The game has 'Very Positive' reviews on Steam, with fans praising the addictive gameplay loop and visuals.
Other games coming to Xbox Game Pass include Goat Simulator Remastered on August 20 and Herdling on August 21.
