Novak Djokovic is about to begin his bid for Wimbledon glory against a tennis star with an unusual sponsorship deal. And while Alexandre Muller insists that his affiliation with OnlyFans is not exactly what it seems, the 28-year-old still refers to himself as 'the sexiest professional tennis player from France'.

OnlyFans is often used as a platform for erotic content but Muller is part of a push from the company to alter their public image. The world No. 41 opened his account in January last year, shortly after Nick Kyrgios launched one of his own in order to connect with fans in a new way.

Neither player posts nude images to their profile but Muller does confess to posting the occasional topless gym photo. He has been banned from uploading Wimbledon locker room pictures, however, with strict rules in place which limit him to sharing only the facilities in public areas.

Muller said: "OnlyFans is a social media like any other. I post about tennis and my life. I don't post anything explicit as people would expect. I only talk about tennis. Everyone knows OnlyFans as an erotic themed website, but that's not the case for me."

He added in an interview with The Sun: "[OnlyFans] wants to change their image. They are supporting lots of players, golfers, boxers, UFC fighters... a lot of sportsmen.

"At the beginning my friends were laughing at me. Then I showed them my platform and they said: ‘OK, it’s very cool.’ Everybody wants to sign up now.

"Do I post risque photos? No, no. I don’t do it. Because I don’t want to. My job is a tennis player, not making movies for adults. I received a lot of messages, saying: ‘Alex, can you show me this?’ But not my body."
