Manchester United icon Gary Pallister expects Bruno Fernandes to leave the club next summer if they struggle to improve this season.

He said: “If nothing changes, I don't think anybody would argue if Bruno Fernandes gets to next summer and says he is done.

“He wants to win the big things. He's too good a player not to look back on his career at the end of it and say, That's all I won.

“He's an exceptional player and an exceptional talent. But yeah, if we have another season like last season, then I don't think any Manchester United fan would argue if he was to say that’s enough for me.

“But I'm not expecting that, I'm expecting there to be an uptick in the way the team performs. I do like Ruben Amorim, I think he's got a good personality, and I think he speaks well - but he's got a tough task in turning everything around.”
