Elden Ring Nightreign is getting a big update towards the end of the month, as developer FromSoftware continues to add more content to the game on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Indeed, if you're in need of more of a challenge, then the good news is that FromSoftware will add four new enhanced Nightlords soon.

Enhanced Nightlords Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast and Fissure in the Fog will be added to the game from July 31.

The news was announced by FromSoftware on X: "On July 31, 2025, a new Everdark cycle shall begin; the enhanced Nightlords Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast and Fissure in the Fog will soon unleash their darkest powers upon Limveld."

It's unclear if the new Nightlords will be added at the same time, or in weekly instalments as usual.

As the name suggests, these Nightlords are more powerful than the typical bosses, featuring new moves and buffs.

Of course, while new content and variations are always welcome, it's not quite the update everybody has been waiting for.

Just before the launch of Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware announced plans to bring two-person co-op to the game in a future update.

This would make it easier for friends to enjoy the co-operative element of the game, without having to find a third party.

According to game director Junya Ishizaki, the lack of two-person multiplayer was something of an oversight.

"The simple answer is that this is simply something that was overlooked during development as just a two-player option, so we’re very sorry about that," he said.

"As we said before, we set out to make this a multiplayer co-op game for three players, balanced for three players, so that was the main focus and it’s at the core of Nightreign.

"Of course, I myself as a player understand that and often want times where I’m just playing myself, so this is something that we considered from the start. And so we did put a lot of effort into creating this experience that was playable for solo players in as much as the rules and new systems allowed."
