Over half of Brits regularly experience 'h-anger', with long queues for events, traffic jams, and work meetings being the prime triggers, according to a survey of 2,000 adults. Other common situations that induce h-anger include train delays, the journey home after a night out, and lengthy bus or coach trips.

On average, respondents reported experiencing h-anger twice a week, with 34 percent not realising until it was too late and 31 percent admitting it ruins their enjoyment of activities. The study was commissioned by Dolmio, which recently launched a pop-up food truck in a major UK city to serve pasta with its new Intensify sauce to hungry concert-goers.

The initiative aimed to prevent fans from experiencing h-anger while queuing to see Oasis at one of the year's biggest music events.

H-anger has been shown to significantly impact enjoyment, with 67 percent of those affected reporting difficulty focusing on the moment and 45 percent feeling discouraged from participating in activities such as taking photos or dancing.

Three in ten have experienced h-anger during live events like concerts, with 88 percent citing long entry queues as a major factor.

When it had arrived, some of the top symptoms included irritability, difficulty concentrating and a short temper, according to OnePoll data. A significant 34 percent admitted they're poor at planning ahead to prevent bouts of hanger.

Among those who have experienced h-anger, 34 percent admitted that others noticed when they were hangry. Quick meals like pasta, chips, and sandwiches were identified as effective h-anger deterrents.

Hana Hutchinson, European brand director at Mars, commented: "Hanger happens to the best of us – me included.

"But when we saw how it's impacting peoples' experiences, particularly at live events, we had to put a stop to it for the return of the Gallaghers.

"This was the perfect reminder that quick and tasty meals are only a jar away, no matter what you've got on."
