Arsenal fans furious over the imminent arrival of Noni Madueke have defaced murals depicting Mikel Arteta and other key Gunners figures. Supporters have taken out their anger on the Spaniard, who is said to have given the green light to a £52million move for Chelsea star Madueke.
A row of banners underneath a bridge in North London have now been vandalised, with many suspecting that the action has been taken due to Arsenal's interest in the England winger. One mural depicting Arteta has been defaced with the words 'C*** C***'. Another piece of art work has the words 'ARTETA OUT' scrawled across. The same phrase is written on the wall in the middle of the road, where the lanes are separated by a partition underneath the tunnel.

Further banners also featured graffiti calling for Arteta to leave Arsenal. Fan @AFC12thman posted a video on X to show the extent of the vandalism.
First, he showed the banner which labelled Arteta a 'C***', before turning to graffiti on the wall that read 'ARTETA OUT'. However the 'R' looked more like an 'N'. "Who the f*** is Antena? I don't know Antena but I know Arteta. It looks c*** but I respect it anyway," the Arsenal supporter, who is anti-Arteta, jokes in the video.
"I woke up livid but someone hasn't even bothered to go to sleep. Madueke has absolutely rattled them. I can't even blame them either. Can you blame them? No, you can't. You've got idiots saying, 'Support the club, he's not worn the shirt'. No one wants to see it."
Arsenal have reportedly agreed a £52m deal with Chelsea for Madueke. Naturally a left-footed right winger, the 23-year-old plays in the same position as Gunners favourite Bukayo Saka. However, he can also play on the left and provide competition to Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, the latter of whom has been linked with an exit.
A move for Madueke would represent the continuation of a theme of Arsenal signing players from neighbours Chelsea. Kepa Arrizabalanga, Jorginho, Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling have all swapped Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium in recent years. Go further back and Petr Cech, Willian and David Luiz all made the same move.
Arsenal finished 10 points behind Premier League champions Liverpool last season, prompting some frustration over a five-year wait for a trophy. The Gunners have responded with a big-spending summer that has already involved the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres could be next.
Fans also protested against Madueke's arrival with an online petition calling on Arsenal to drop their interest.
