Lady Louise Windsor had to skillfully duck to avoid hitting tree leaves and branches whilst out riding her horse on a hot summer's day. The daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh, was riding in luscious green surroundings but she was kitted out in full protection.

Lady Louise wore a black riding vest, riding gloves and a black helmet which offered her plenty of protection. Her riding outfit consisted of an olive green t-shirt, maroon leggings, and black riding boots. Her blonde tresses were swept up underneath her helmet.

Snaps which caught the royal in action showed her smiling as she ducked under the tree leaves and branches to avoid any casualties.

Last weekend, Lady Louise participated in the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving from June 27 through June 29.

Like her late grandfather Prince Philip, Lady Louise is an accomplished carriage driver, and she put her skills to the test on the final day of the event, held on the Sandringham estate on Sunday.

Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter shared a bond with her grandfather over carriage driving, a sport he loved for decades.

The St Andrews' student was cheered on by Felix da Silva-Clamp, a fellow student at the University of St Andrews. Finishing third in the prestigious competition, Lady Louise was cheered on by Felix as well as her mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh, who dressed in a bold red shirt dress for the equestrian event.

The proud mother of two took photos of Lady Louise during the competition as Felix watched, and the two were spotted spending time with Louise throughout the weekend competition.
