Many household cleaners are packed with chemicals that can be harsh on your home and your health. If you're looking to cut down on harsh chemicals in your cleaning routine, there's one natural solution thatโs been gaining traction on social media.
Cleaning expert Lese Mmolotsi, also known as @homewithlese on Instagram, shared her "powerful" solution that's made up of two ingredients most homeowners already have in their cupboards. From kitchens to bathrooms, it offers an effective, eco-friendly alternative that works in four impressive ways. Lese captioned her post and said: "In this video, Iโm showing you how I use it to keep my home clean - the natural way."
Lese uses white vinegar and dish soap for her "powerful solution." In the video, she is seen combining the two ingredients with water in a spray bottle before using them in different elements of her home.
According to Simply Recipes, "For a small spray bottle, start with one cup of vinegar, one cup of water, and one squirt of dish soap. If you have a large spray bottle (like 32 ounces), double the vinegar and water and use two squirts of dish soap.
"The mixture should look very pale blue. Give it a gentle shake and youโre ready to go."
1. Good on stains
The creator is seen using the solution on a creamy beige jumper that has a brown/yellow stain. Lese simply sprayed the solution on the mark and then put it in the washing machine. The jumper came out clean and stain-free.
2. Grease
Spray any greasy surface or cookware. Lese demonstrated spraying her greasy air fryer with the solution, then pouring boiling water on top before rinsing.
3. Shine shower doors and windows
Spray the surface with your solution and wipe in a circular motion using a flat-end mop. Use a hose or your shower head to wash off the solution.
4. Disinfect your bathroom floor
Homeowners can also use this solution on Bathroom floors. Simply spray and mop until the liquid disappears and your floor is sparkling clean.
Simply Recipes explained how this works and said: "Dish soap is used for its grease and grime-fighting powers, and vinegar for its acidic muscle, good for cleaning dirt and build-ups. Both ingredients are also antibacterial."
