A food recall alert has been issued for a product sold in Aldi stores, with customers warned that it is "unsafe to eat" due to the potential presence of plastic pieces.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that BM Foods Ltd is recalling its Chicken Cooked Meat Trimmings, as the product may contain plastic fragments that could pose a choking hazard.

The FSA stated: "The possible presence of pieces of plastic in the products which presents a choking hazard and makes them unsafe to eat."
Notices will be displayed in stores where the product was sold, advising customers on what to do if they have purchased the affected item.
Consumers are advised: "If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to your nearest Aldi store for a full refund. For further information, please visit help.aldi.co.uk/s or contact customer services on 0800 042 0800."
Aldi has also issued a statement, saying: "As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling selected packs of Chicken Cooked Meat Trimmings because they may contain plastic.
"Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation. For further information, please visit help.aldi.co.uk/s.
