Argos issues 'exciting' Nintendo Switch 2 stock alert but you need to act fast | Gaming | Entertainment

Argos has issued an exciting update about the Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of the console's June 5 launch.

In an email sent to customers, Argos has confirmed that the console will be available to purchase online from 6am BST UK time on June 5.

However, the retailer has warned customers that the Switch 2 is likely to sell out quickly, so you'll need to act fast if you want to secure a console on launch day.

"The Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here," reads an Argos email. "All Argos customers can get their hands on the newest evolution of the console from 6am on Thursday 5th June and with Argos's same-day click and collect service, they can have it up and running in no time."

As the email points out, customers can purchase the console from the website and collect it in store on the same day.

Argos also offers same-day delivery when applicable, provided items are ordered by 5pm BST.

Argos director of buying Harry Boughton also believes the console will sell out quickly, explaining that search for the new Nintendo device has skyrocketed ahead of launch.

"We're really excited to be launching the Nintendo Switch 2 at Argos this week," Boughton explains. "We know our customers are gearing up in anticipation and with the console already the second most visited product this week at argos.co.uk and searches skyrocketing, up 74% week on week, we expect it to sell fast as soon as it's available on Thursday morning.

"We've also seen a 57% increase in customers adding the newest member of the Switch family to their wish lists, ready to purchase later this week and with our fast delivery and click and collect options, they can get their hands on their new console ASAP."

The Nintendo Switch 2 aims to improve on the original model by offering a bigger display capable of playing games at 120 frames-per-second. It also supports 4K visuals when docked and HDR support.

Elsewhere, Nintendo has incorporated a new GameChat feature, which lets users talk to friends, share screens and connect face-to-face when using a camera.

The console launches with games like Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, Street Fighter 6, Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy.

The real highlight, however, is Mario Kart World, which features open-world driving and new online modes.

Upgraded versions of existing Switch games will also be available, including Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
