While Prince Harry and Prince William may no longer be on talking terms anymore, there was a time when the brothers shared a very close bond. During their early adulthood years as senior full-time working royals, the brothers would often step out on royal engagements together, often accompanied by Princess Kate after she married William, 42, in 2011.

Although some may think this would be awkward for Harry, 40, who was unmarried at the time, this was not the case, as he always got on with his sister-in-law until quitting royal life in 2020. In Spare, Harry shared some of his first meetings with Kate, showing his true feelings in one three-word description.

Recalling how he felt about her during the early days of knowing her, Harry said: "She was carefree, sweet, kind."

He then said that she had a good personality and a “silly side”, claiming that he felt she was the sister he had never had.

The prince also said that Kate, 43, was a good match for his brother.

While Harry may have once been close to his sister-in-law, this has not been the case for the past five years.

Since quitting royal life with his wife Meghan Markle, 43, in 2020 and moving to America, the prince has experienced increasingly fractured relationships with his brother, sister-in-law, and other royal relatives.

The rifts are believed to have been made worse as a result of the actions taken by the duke and Meghan, including their Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, their tell-all Netflix docuseries in 2022, followed by Harry’s bombshell memoir in 2023.

It is believed Harry is no longer on talking terms with William or Kate, and has not seen them during recent visits to the UK.

The duke is also reportedly experiencing a strain in the relationship with his father King Charles, 76, with Harry recently telling the BBC that the monarch “won’t speak” to him.

It is not known whether the pair have spoken since this revelation was made earlier this month.
