Sky Sports News 'axe six more popular presenters' including Melissa Reddy | Football | Sport![]() Melissa Reddy is one of six presenters to have been axed by Sky Sports as part of a major shake-up, according to reports. The broadcasting giant is carrying out a major redundancy programme with a number of famous faces being shown the door. It comes after long-serving presenter Rob Wotton gave a tearful farewell live on air on Monday evening. More exits are set to follow with Reddy among the presenters to have been mentioned in an internal memo, according to The Sun. The message, which was reportedly sent around to Sky Sports employees, revealed that Reddy and six others would be leaving the broadcaster in addition to Wotton. It is said that fellow presenters Teddy Draper and Jasper Taylor, senior reporters Jeremy Langdon and Fadumo Olow, and producer Nick Lustig will also depart Sky Sports. Reddy joined the broadcaster in 2022 and has covered some of the biggest stories in football over the last three years. She has reported on many clubs with a particular focus on Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City. Draper and Taylor, meanwhile, have been at Sky Sports for almost two decades with Langdon on their books for even longer. Last month, it was reported that a major shake-up was being planned which would impact several of the channel's well-known faces. The decision was said to have come as a shock to many employees when they were informed of the news. It comes just two years after Sky Sports axed a number of veteran reporters with the likes of Geoff Shreeves, Bianca Westwood and Dickie Davies leaving the station. Martin Tyler was also ditched with Peter Drury brought in to replace him. Wotton choked back tears when he announced his departure from Sky Sports at the end of his broadcasting shift on Monday. He joined the company in 1998 and was one of their best-known presenters, covering a range of sports. Signing off the show, Wotton said: "It's been an absolute pleasure. I came here in my twenties and I thought I was only coming for a couple of weeks. And look, they haven't been able to get rid of me. If I keep turning up, maybe one day they'll pay me." He also presented The Football Show, which looked back at the weekend’s matches and biggest talking points on Monday mornings. However, the programme has been axed for next season as part of the widespread changes taking place behind the scenes. Source link Posted: 2025-05-29 01:21:43 |
