Queen Camilla introduces new family member ahead of sweet event | Royal | News

The Palace has shared an adorable picture of Queen Camilla with her new rescue dog ahead of her visit to the Chelsea Flower Show. In a post on Instagram, The Royal Family's official account posted a photo of the royal smiling and holding the young pup on her lap.

The accompanying caption read: "Meet mischievous Moley, The Queen’s new much-loved canine companion who was recently adopted from @Battersea where Her Majesty is Patron." It comes after the account shared the first picture of the pet earlier, showing the dog standing proudly on a chair.

Camilla has revealed small snippets of information about the new family member over recent months, confirming on a previous royal engagement that the pooch, who is a Jack Russell Terrier cross, is a rescue dog and is a “bit of everything”.

The picture of her with Moley comes ahead of the Queen's visit to the Dog Royal Horticultural Society and BBC Radio 2's Dog Garden at the flower show in West London tomorrow.

She will appear alongside her husband King Charles, the Duke of Edinburgh and Duke and Duchess of Gloucester for their tour on of the world famous horticultural event, which first began in 1913.

The post explains that dog garden is "designed with dogs in mind", and "features grass areas for dogs to enjoy and a large tree providing shade".

"The brick paths are inscribed with the names of dogs belonging to Radio 2 presenters and RHS ambassadors, as well as Monty Don’s beloved dog Ned, to reflect the special place dogs hold in the nation’s hearts and gardens," it adds.

The path will also feature the names of Camilla's adopted Jack Russell Terrier, Bluebell, as will Moley, and her beloved late pet Beth, who passed away last year.

King Charles' dog Snuff will also have its name on the path.

"The Garden for Dogs will live on after RHS Chelsea, at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home," the post concluded.

The Firm is known for its love of horses and dogs. The late Queen Elizabeth II is thought to have had around 30 corgis during her decades on the throne.
