Netflix adds ‘underrated’ heist movie sequel that fans are divided on | Films | Entertainment

Netflix has just dropped a number of titles on its platform and subscribers have been enjoying an array of shows and films that have just become available. One of those films, added to Netflix on May 5, is a sequel to one of the best heist films of the last couple of decades. While some people are full of praise for the second installment of the movie series, others weren't fans and viewers seem extremely divided on it.

Inside Man: Most Wanted is the 2019 sequel to 2006's Inside Man, the latter of which starred Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster. The sequel, which many action movie fans were excited about when it was released six years ago, has recently landed on Netflix UK and viewers have been sharing their thoughts. With a score of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, significantly lower than the first film, it has impressed some while leaving others wanting a bit more.

In the first film, which is available to watch on Tubi, a bank robbery turns into a tense hostage situation. The events of the second film, released more than a decade after the first, take place five years later and focus on a new group of robbers and a new heist.

In Inside Man: Most Wanted, the NYPD and FBI are forced to act fast when tourists are taken hostage during a money heist. While the reviews for the film are mixed, some were delighted to see it added to Netflix on May 5.

Earlier this week, the film entered the top 10 most popular films on the streaming platform. One online reviewer wrote: "Fun movie, intense at times, lots of twists, enjoyable characters, thoroughly enjoyed it. It's underrated."

Another Rotten Tomatoes reviewer said that the action flick has an "interesting twist". A third wrote: "Clever spin on Ocean's Eleven style subterfuge. Good cast with great chemistry between McKee and Ameen. Ameen has the swagger and banter of Will Smith. Very enjoyable!"

However, others weren't as impressed and there were some rather negative reviews left online.

One person described it as a "waste of a remake" while another said that it was "nothing close to the original".

Another shared: "Missed on every level. Just watch 'The Insider', a superior movie on every frame!"

A third wrote: "A very unnecessary sequel that tries to add to the original movie, but at the same time it disrespects it."
