11 vintage baby names that could make a comeback in 2025




Picking a baby name can feel like a huge deal.

Do you pick a classy name, name your baby after a loved one, or go out there and pick a name that nobody will expect?

Well, to help you choose, it turns out that vintage names are totally back in style.

The ones that once belonged to your great-grandma or grandpa - think Edith or Arthur - are now topping today’s trend lists.

With so much pressure to find the one, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. So we dove headfirst into Nameberry and found 11 vintage gems that might just steal your heart.

Baby names that we could see more of in 2025

  1. Alexandra - A beautiful name with so many nicknames from Allie to Alex and Alexa, to Lexi, Sandy, Sandra and more

  2. Dorothy - Thanks to Wicked returning to the cinema, this Wizard of Oz classic is a fan favourite

  3. Guinevere - If you're a fan of Merlin (remember that BBC show?) and all things historical(ish), this Arthurian legend could be the perfect name. In fact, if you've watched the latest season of YOU, you'll have heard this name before too

  4. Covey - Nameberry say: "We predict that Covey might be catching the eyes of fans of the Hunger Games spinoff, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes", in which Covey refers to a group of nomadic, free-spirited musicians that includes protagonist Lucy Gray Baird."

  5. Josephine - This name has been on a gentle uphill climb in the US for over 30 years, now ranking in the Top 100. With it becoming more and more popular, the UK could soon see similar

  6. Rosemary - The name Rosemary is a girl's name of Latin origin meaning "dew of the sea, or rosemary (herb)"

  7. Florence - Whether Florence Pugh, Nightingale or any other famous name comes to mind, or you just like the sound of it, it's sure to be one we will see more of

  8. Evelyn - The name Evelyn is a boy's name of English origin meaning "desired; or water, island". The name experts reveal: "It may be a Top 10 pick for girls right now, but in the 17th century, it was given more often to boys" especially if they were of "the upper class"Evelyn relates to the Norman French female name Aveline, the origins of which are not entirely clear. Theories include "desired" and "water, island".

  9. Martha - The name Martha is a girl's name of Aramaic origin meaning "lady"

  10. Daphne - Bridgerton, anyone?
