South West Water LIVE: 9,500 homes without water as supermarkets run out of bottles | UK | News

Around 9,500 properties in west Devon are without water following a burst pipe, South West Water said on April 22. Water supplies were hit on Monday, April 21, after the incident, impacting some 13,000 households.

Despite engineers working to solve the issue and the main being fixed yesterday, many postcodes continue to be affected. Three schools were also forced to close. In light of the prolonged issue, many have headed to local stores to buy bottled water - with some locals claiming to the Daily Mail that supermarket shelves have been stripped clean of it.
