Elder Scrolls Oblivion reveal event confirmed - Rumoured release date, file size, DLC leak | Gaming | Entertainment

After months of rumours, Bethesda is finally ready to unveil Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered in full.

As you can see from the tweet below, Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered will be officially unveiled during a livestream at 4pm BST UK time on April 22. The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered livestream will be broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch.

Bethesda is expected to announce a release date during the stream, alongside showcasing gameplay footage and revealing new details about the Oblivion remaster.

If the recent reports are accurate, then there's a good chance the game will launch after the livestream comes to an end.

Oblivion Remastered was rumoured to shadow drop during the week beginning April 21. A shadow drop typically means the game will be available almost immediately after being announced, which means Oblivion Remastered should be available to purchase on April 22.

The game is expected to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will also reportedly be available as a day-one release for Game Pass.

Other details have also 'leaked' in the past few days, including the rumoured Oblivion Remastered file size.

According to industry insider XOXLEAK, the game will weigh in at around 120GB, although file sizes will vary from platform to platform. The hefty file size is due to the fact that the game is being remade in Unreal Engine 5.

While the 120GB file size isn't ideal, the good news is that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will reportedly contain all of the post-release DLC from the original release.

This includes full-scale expansions such as The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, and perhaps even the infamous horse armour DLC.

In addition to improved graphics and DLC, the game will contain various quality of life upgrades, such as a new blocking system, a new stamina management system, and refined archery.

It's possible that the release of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion will be followed by another iconic Bethesda remake.

According to Microsoft court documents from its case involving the FTC, a Fallout 3 remaster is also in the works.
