Give Amazon your old Fire TV Stick to get something better for the lowest ever price

One of the easiest and best ways to stream the latest TV shows and films is by using an Amazon Fire TV Stick. These popular gadgets plug into the back of TV sets up and down the country, connecting to your home Wi-Fi network and offering a phone-like grid of apps to log in to and get watching.

Right now, Amazon is running a deal where you can trade in your current Fire TV Stick to get 20 percent off its latest and greatest version, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Not only that, the Stick is also reduced from its RRP of £69.99 down to £44.99. Amazon says this is a ‘limited time deal’, so we don’t know how long it’ll last. The good news is you don’t have to be an Amazon Prime subscriber to get this special price.

With the 20 percent further discount, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max will cost you just £35.99, an excellent price for what you’re getting. According to the Amazon price comparison site Camelcamelcamel, £44.99 is the lowest ever price this Stick has sold for, so the extra discount means this is truly as low as it has ever gone.

While cheaper Fire TV Sticks can still stream content to your TV, they don’t have as many features as this premium version.

As the name suggests, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max allows for 4K resolution streaming - if your TV and the source content is 4K compatible. Even if you haven’t got a 4K TV, it’s good to know if and when you upgrade that your Fire TV Stick will be able to keep up.

It also has support for the Dolby Vision standard that many TVs have nowadays. It’s a High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology that enhances the images of show and films by boosting contrast and brightness.

This high-end Stick also supports Wi-Fi 6E, a newer Wi-Fi version that promises better connectivity and speeds for 4K content, if your router is also broadcasting in 6E (you can check).

Not only that, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max can be used with Alexa via the included remote to control your smart home appliances such as lights, thermostats and cameras.

To get the extra 20 percent off, you have to send your existing Fire TV Stick to Amazon. To do this, make sure you’re logged into the same Amazon account you bought your current Stick on. When you visit the Fire TV Stick 4K Max listing page, click on the box that says ‘Save 20% with Trade-In’. The Stick should appear in a list, and you can click it, but if it doesn’t you can also search for it.

You can then go through the process and be given a shipping label to print off. Send your Stick back to Amazon, and when received the firm will issue your account with a 20 percent off voucher for the Fire TV Stick you can then redeem online. Most trade ins will also get you a few pounds worth of Amazon gift card money added to your account.
