PS Plus prices to increase in certain countries Sony announces | Gaming | Entertainment

Sony has just announced plans to increase the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions in multiple countries in South East Asia. From April 16, the price of a PS Plus subscription will increase in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The latest price hikes were announced just days after Sony confirmed plans to raise the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions in 15 Latin American countries.

Needless to say, if you live in one of the countries affected by the increases, then you may want to renew your membership before the new prices are introduced. Sony explained its decision to increase the prices in a blog post: "Like many businesses around the world, we continue to be impacted by global market conditions and will be adjusting our local prices for PlayStation Plus. This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service."

UK and European customers will be hoping Sony doesn't introduce similar price hikes in the months ahead.

PS Plus subscriptions rose by 20% in September 2023, increasing from £49.99 to £59.99 for a 12-month Essential membership.

PS Plus Extra memberships are currently priced at £99.99, while PlayStation Plus Premium subscriptions are available for £119.99.

Speaking of PS Plus Extra and Premium, Sony recently announced the new games for April 2025.

The latest batch of games include roguelike puzzle game Blue Prince, which made its PlayStation Plus debut on April 10.

In addition to Blue Prince, the April 2025 PS Plus Extra line-up includes Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2, which is another brand new release.

That's on top of Harry Potter video game spinoff Hogwarts Legacy, which has been predicted for the past few months.

Electronic Arts features heavily in the April line-up, adding new games like EA Sports PGA Tour and Battlefield 1.

The April Premium line-up includes classic horror game Alone in the Dark 2, as well as War of the Monsters.
