Ignore the Switch 2 - Nintendo's Switch OLED just got way more affordable

Nintendo recently confirmed the release of its shiny new Switch 2 console which comes packed with upgrades such as a bigger screen, improved Joy-Cons, extra storage and a new GameChat button which lets gamers interact as they play. There will be also be a bunch of exclusive games to play including the hotly anticipated Mario Kart World.

It's a major release from the Japanese gaming firm and it's available to pre-order now from store such as Argos, Very and Currys. The only slight issue for some might be its price with things starting from a pretty punchy £395.99 - ouch!

If that sounds way too much for your credit card to cope with but you still fancy a portable console then it's worth checking out a deal from Amazon.

The online retailer is currently offering the impressive Switch OLED for just £251.99 - that's the lowest price it's ever been at Amazon.

That deal also beats other UK stores, with most of them selling this device for £299.

One other offer we have found comes from EE with customers able to add the console and EA Sports FC 25 to their current phone bill for an extra £18 per month.

This does split the cost and make things more affordable, but there is a 24-month contract to sign, which means there's a total of £452 to pay, including a £20 upfront fee.

As a quick reminder, the Switch OLED features a 7-inch OLED display which offers bright and vivid visuals.

There's also 64GB of storage, a fully adjustable kickstand for better gaming on the move and the option to play titles on your TV via the dock.

Although it can't match the new features found on the Switch 2 it does offer some big upgrades over the original Switch thanks to the larger display, more memory and getting OLED technology.

If you want to know more about the Switch 2, Express.co.uk has already had our hands on this device and you can read our Nintendo Switch 2 first impressions here. Although that new device is available for pre-order it won't arrive in stores until June.
