Canada wins 4x100m race at Florida Relays




The Canadian relay team of Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney, and Andre De Grasse won the 4x100-metres race at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. on Saturday in 38.09 seconds.

It's the same quartet that took home gold for Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where it clocked in a time of 37.50.

De Grasse also won the men's 200m final at the Florida Relays on Friday. The 30-year-old De Grasse hails from Markham, Ont., and now trains in Gainesville, Fla. under coach Mike Holloway.

The American team of Christian Coleman, Kyree King, Erriyon Knighton, and Robert Gregory settled for silver with a time of 38.16.

A second Canadian 4x100m team, made up of Malachi Murray, Duan Asemota, Norris Spike, and Eliezer Adjibi grabbed the bronze, finishing in 39.13.

More athletics action continues at the Grand Slam Track event in Kingston, Jamaica, with Canada's Marco Arop competing in the men's 1500m. Coverage begins Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
