LG and Samsung revealed their latest and greatest 2025 tellies all the way back in January at the CES technology show in Las Vegas but, despite being in Sin City, Sony kept its blockbuster TV updates firmly under wraps. Now, after months of waiting, we finally know what's coming this year from the Japanese technology firm and they look and sound very impressive.

Top of the range is the latest BRAVIA 8 II, which features a striking design that fuses the screen and the bezel into a single slate - that means you get more screen to watch movies and sporting action and slimmer black borders.

The latest QD-OLED display should offer some seriously impressive visuals. Sony boasts that its new BRAVIA 8 II will give users perfect blacks and superior contrast. Inside, there's also the clever XR Processor, which works in tandem with that OLED panel to ensure that the content always looks its best.

Smart technology - such as AI scene recognition - can even detect and analyse image data with pinpoint accuracy so you get the optimal picture and ultimate realism.

Another bonus is the XR Contrast Booster. This controls the amount of light displayed on the screen with Sony confirming that this technology precisely controls light for "sublime pictures full of depth and detail".

As well as offering impressive visuals, these new TVs should sound pretty good as well. Sony has packed Acoustic Surface Audio + inside which turns every part of the screen into a powerful speaker. This audio technology then emits sound from the right place in the scene to create a more cinema-like experience in the living room.

Along with its premium BRAVIA 8, Sony is also releasing new BRAVIA 5 and more wallet-friendly BRAVIA 3 models as well.

The BRAVIA 5 will come in numerous sizes - from 98” to 55” - and boasts several premium visual and sound features along with LEDs that are intelligently controlled by a clever XR Backlight Master Drive.

The cheaper BRAVIA 3 will offer 4K viewing and Dolby Atmos audio. It is is also powered by Google TV for easy access to all the most popular streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV+ and Prime Video.

Another nice bonus will please gamers as the BRAVIA 3 is also fully compatible with Sony PlayStation's PS Remote Play.

The BRAVIA 5 goes on sale this month and starts from £1,499. The BRAVIA 8 will arrive in June and cost at least £2,499. The BRAVIA 3 ships in May and starts from £699.
