Millions offered ultimate broadband upgrade BT and Sky can't match - check your postcode

If your internet speeds are less than zippy you might want to switch broadband providers and get a better connection wired into your home for work and play. Many firms offer introductory deals for new customers, and the latest discounts from one provider in particular have caught our eye.

Community Fibre is currently offering all new customers its 3Gbps fibre broadband for just £39 per month, a service the company advertises as “London's fastest broadband speed”.

That’s the catch: Community Fibre only serves London. But if you live in the capital then you could live in an area that is privy to the very fastest fibre broadband speeds in the country.

According to comparison site Money Supermarket, Community Fibre is available in Brent, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Ealing, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth and Westminster.

£39 per month is a great price for the 3Gbps service, which normally costs £56 per month, which in itself is competitive. Community Fibre said the connection would allow customers to download a 50 GB copy of football video game EA FC in 2 minutes and 13 seconds. That’s incredibly fast for such a large download.

The deal comes with no set up fee and the £39 price is fixed until March 2026, after which the price will rise annually every April by £2. This deal is set to end on Tuesday April 1, 2025, so you don’t have long to take advantage of the savings.

It's a 24-month commitment, so make sure you can afford the payments before signing up. It’s also worth considering you might not need speeds this fast, which are usually recommended if you have a household with many people and devices or if you want to play online multiplayer games at the best quality with no interruptions.

Heavyweight broadband providers BT, Sky, Virgin Media and EE can’t currently compete with Community Fibre’s 3Gbps speeds. None of them offer this high-end package, with all four hovering around the 1Gbps mark. Of course, these four competitors all service a wider area than Community Fibre, but for broadband users in London looking to switch, it could be well worth checking out the smaller provider.

Community Fibre uses its own independent fibre optic network, as opposed to many other providers that tap into the BT-owned Openreach national network. This approach has allowed Community Fibre to offer differentiated services that concentrate on faster speeds.
