Man Utd player ratings vs Leicester: Two 9/10s and 7s galore but routine win turns sour | Football | Sport

Manchester United entered the March international break with back-to-back wins after cruising to a 3-0 triumph against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday. Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho ended their lengthy goal droughts before Bruno Fernandes added a third, firing Ruben Amorim's visitors to victory and up to 13th at the King Power Stadium.

Express Sport runs through the United player ratings on a comfortable evening in the Midlands against Ruud van Nistelrooy's relegation-destined Leicester.

Man Utd player ratings vs Leicester

Andre Onana: 7

A doubt for the match earlier on Sunday but made himself available to continue his ever-present Premier League status since joining. Denied Jamie Vardy well in the first and second halves.

Matthijs de Ligt: 8

Solid on the right of the back three and then covered much more ground after substitutes sparked a switch-up. Huge block to stop a goal-bound shot on 75 minutes.

Victor Lindelof: 5

You'd have thought he was the United defender on his first Premier League start during some iffy moments early on. Left the visitors vulnerable after being bullied by Jamie Vardy in the second half.

Ayden Heaven: 9

United look to have scored an absolute coup by spending just £1m to sign him from Arsenal. Breathtaking first-half of defensive actions, and it actually was his league bow. His injury shortly after the break looked a bad one. Cruel shame for him and United.

Noussair Mazraoui: 7

Dropped into the back three when Heaven was forced off. So reliable, which is what United have grown to expect.

Manuel Ugarte: 7

A welcome return in midfield. Produced a sensational bursting run to deny Wilfred Ndidi, who seemed certain to score.

Bruno Fernandes: 9

Created Hojlund's opener with a trademark pinpoint pass to cut Leicester open. Then assisted Garnacho. Then scored himself. Eleven goal contributions in his last eight games. He's in some of the best form of his United career.

Diogo Dalot: 6

Poor crossing on the left but showed plenty of tenacity in the challenge and looked more at home after switching sides. Teed up Fernandes' late strike. Patrick Dorgu's return after the break will likely be as welcome with Diogo Dalot as Ruben Amorim.

Alejandro Garnacho: 7

Thought he'd become the second United forward to end his long goal drought after finishing Hojlund's lay-off but was a hair-length offside. Moments later, he did with an acute near-post finish. Looks a better player on the right than the left.

Christian Eriksen: 5

Uncharacteristically sloppy passing and seldom offered much of substance apart from his speculative long-range curler that struck the post.

Rasmus Hojlund: 7

Rewarded for recent improved performances with his first goal in 21 games. Finished nervelessly in the circumstances. Something to build on.

Substitutes

Toby Collyer: 7

Showcased his versatility when replacing Heaven. He's a very handy squad player for Amorim.

Harry Amass: 6

On the pitch for just over 20 minutes on his United debut. It's been a long-time coming.

Casemiro: 7

Four starts in 11 days was too much for the in-form 33-year-old. Started the move for United's third goal.

Joshua Zirkzee: 6

A surprise omission after his recent exploits. Amorim needs to keep him fit and fresh, though.

Chido Obi: 6

Another appearance in the tank from the bench.
