Gabby Logan issues apology live on BBC during Wales vs England | Rugby | Sport

BBC Six Nations host Gabby Logan issued a public apology to Wales for forgetting their try during half-time coverage of their clash with England. The visitors to Cardiff had built up a mammoth 33-7 half-time lead, after which Logan listed the names of each player who crossed the white line.

Logan and the Beeb pundits were analysing each try in order and had discussed the first two scores from Maro Itoje and Tom Roebuck, before missing out Ben Thomas' try for Wales and attempting to move on to when Tommy Freeman crossed for England's third.

Logan said: "Let's have a little look at the mistake from Wales here and Anscombe's chargedown, Tommy Freeman... oh no I have missed one out! Ben Thomas! Ben Thomas' try, sorry Wales."

Former Wales captain Sam Warburton, who joined Logan as a Beeb pundit for the occasion, jumped to his nation's defence and added: "Let's not lose the one try here!"

Logan then invited the panel comprising of Warburton, Martin Johnson and John Barclay to "celebrate this moment" as Thomas crashed over to cut the deficit to 14-7 and give Matt Sherratt's side a glimmer of hope.

"This was actually good from Wales," Warburton said as the line-out came in close to England's try line. "This is the one time England didn't get them unstuck physically and we will see in a second when Ben Thomas goes over, when you are in a maul like that you have to work really hard from an English perspective.

"(You have to) get back on your feet as quick as you can. But at that point it is a race of who can get on their feet the quickest, England don't get into their defensive shape, they are too narrow.

"Look how condensed they are, Wales players are working, holding around as you can see, England players are blindside around that ruck and it leaves an enormous gap for Ben Thomas to go through. Wales worked harder and they found their gap."
