Mick Jagger's favourite song revealed - and it's not a Rolling Stones hit | Music | Entertainment

Mick Jagger is a music legend known for his own hit songs, but the singer has shared what he likes to listen to from other artists. As the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger has become a rock legend for his gritty, blues-influenced songs and charismatic stage presence.

Jagger formed his first band as a teenager in south east England and eventually left the London School of Economics to start a rock band with childhood friend Keith Richards. The Rolling Stones have been around for over half a century, leaving their mark on the music scene with their signature bluesy sound, rebellious attitude, and unforgettable live performances. With countless hit songs, the band has won Grammy awards and has recently rescheduled its 2025 tour.

Jagger has shared his own favourites when it comes to music.

He reportedly said Boogie by Little Walter was one of his favourite blues songs of all time.

The blues artist was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

“I had to put in a Little Walter track, who is everyone’s favorite harmonica player, of course mine,” Mick Jagger said when he talked Boogie. “This is an instrumental I found called ‘Boogie’.”

Another tune he said he enjoys is Always Right by Alabama Shakes, Jagger said: “Bringing things really up to the present day, Britney Howard, fantastic singer with the Alabama Shakes ‘Always Alright’, which I particularly like,” he revealed when he mentioned the song.

But these aren’t the only songs the icon has mentioned. He also said I’m So Happy I Cry by Fantastic Negrito feat. Tang & The Bangas is another of his favourites.

The Rolling Stones frontman noted that the track, which was released via Fantastic Negrito‘s fourth studio album, had been recorded with a band from New Orleans.

On Sunday, the singer made a surprise appearance at the Oscars with his partner Melanie Hamrick.

Jagger and Hamrick first met in 2014, when the Stones were on tour in Tokyo at the same time as the American Ballet Theater.

Hamrick is a dancer and the pair took their romance up a notch when Jagger invited Hamrick to visit him during the band's stop in Zurich.

The couple welcomed their son, Devereaux, eight, in 2016.
