F1 LIVE: Hamilton responds to Donald Trump threat as driver forced to skip testing session | F1 | Sport

Lewis Hamilton has addressed concerns about Donald Trump’s second tenure as president of the United States, insisting that he won’t change his business approach despite the ongoing attack on so-called ‘DEI hires’.

“I’m not going to change what he does, or the government does,” he told TIME magazine. “All I can do is try to make sure that in my space, in my environment, I’m trying to elevate people.

“There’s going to be forces along the way that don’t want that, for whatever reason I can’t fathom. That doesn’t stop me. It is a fight that we’ll just keep fighting.”

Hamilton also addressed fears of racism, which have been experienced in Italian football in recent years. “I’m not going to lie, it definitely crossed my mind when I was thinking about my decision,” he said. “Like in so many things, it’s often such a small group of people that set that trend for many. I don’t think that it’s going to be a problem.”
