Ruben Amorim has issued a stern warning to Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, urging the youngster to shape up his attitude behind the scenes, according to reports. United beat Ipswich Town 3-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday night to dissolve all remaining fear of shock relegation.

Garnacho started alongside Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund in attack but was subbed off before half-time after Patrick Dorgu's 43rd-minute red card.

He made way for Noussair Mazraoui and headed straight down the Old Trafford tunnel, raising eyebrows. His decision not to re-emerge and sit in the dugout in the second half turned heads.

According to the Daily Star, Amorim was far from pleased when Garnacho opted not to take his place on the bench among his other substitutes.

Garnacho, who had been eyeing an exit from United in January due to limited playing time under Amorim, couldn't find a way out despite interest from Chelsea and Napoli.

Amorim is determined to sidestep the kind of drama that unfolded with Marcus Rashford, whose desire to leave Old Trafford became a major sideshow before his loan move to Aston Villa.

It's claimed that in private discussions with Garnacho, Amorim has emphasised the importance of hard work and earning his spot on the team for the remainder of the season.

Dorgu has started life at United brightly after his £25million arrival from Lecce in the winter transfer window but will miss games against Fulham, Arsenal and Leicester City.

Harry Maguire offered advice to Dorgu following his dismissal in the clash with Ipswich, advising him to come back stronger after his three-game suspension.

Reacting to the 20-year-old's red card for a reckless challenge on Omari Hutchinson, Maguire said: "When you are down to 10 men, it does make it really, really tough.

"Listen, Pat will learn from it. He has been excellent. He has been a real bright spark in the last couple of games.

"He will learn from it, pick his head up, and I am sure he will go again and be a big player for this club."

Amorim said: "The important thing is that I know Dorgu quite well; he doesn’t want to harm anybody, and that is important for me.

"And then you have this situation; he had that mistake, and then you feel that in the game, he was making a lot of runs, trying to win every ball, being aggressive, and sometimes you overdo it."
