Manchester fire LIVE: Smoke seen across Wythanshaw after 'explosions' reported | UK | News A huge fire has erupted in Greater Manchester near Wythenshawe and Timperley, according to social media reports. Several photos and videos posted to X show plumes of smoke and flames rising from the site. Several residents described hearing "popping" sounds or "explosions" after the blaze begun. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 8.15am on Sunday 23 February, 10 fire appliances from across Greater Manchester were called to attend a fire involving heavy goods vehicles on Ennis Close, Manchester. “Crews arrived quickly and are working hard to extinguish the fire.
